RDCPE’s testing and certification center (previously known as the research and development center for high-voltage equipment testing) is presently Russia’s largest facility conducting testing with short-circuit currents, and plays an important role in ensuring safety and reliability of electric power equipment.

Opened more than 45 years ago, the testing center is a largest scientific and experimental facility for the high-voltage equipment.

Since its inception in 1964, the testing center conducted over 25 thousand series of various tests (research, standard, period, qualification, certification, etc.) Starting from its first days the center took an active part in improvement of the testing methodologies and protocols and creation of special testing units and measurement resources, which allows the center to offer testing cervices for capacity, stability, load points, etc.

• scientific research and testing of heavy electric power equipment;
• upgrades of existing equipment;
• development and delivery of recommendations to improve electric power equipment operation based on results of completed tests;
• studies of physical models and samples;
• development of metering, diagnostics and control resources;
• certification testing of electrotechnical products;
• certification of electric power equipment.
