Design and engineering activities carried out by RDCPE were previously implemented by ROSEP open joint stock company, a separate entity founded in 1951 and a leading provider of design services for the electric power grid and energy industry facilities. The company was tasked with development and implementation of the Unified technical policy for design, construction and operation of power grids rated for under 110 kV.

• Long-range planning of power grid sector development to ensure Russia’s energy security pursuant to the goals informed by the key provisions of Federal Law “On Electric Power Energy Sector”, Russia’s Energy Strategy and General plan for electric energy facility siting;
• Development of Conceptual technical policy (key provisions) for the power grid sector to ensure comprehensive and timely identification and implementation of future technology development goals, optimal access to resources and high quality of electric power equipment, structures and materials used for design of electric power grid facilities;
• Standard and custom design of electric power grid facilities based on the latest scientific and technical knowledge in the energy sector and key provisions of Technical Policy for the power grid sector in order to satisfy energy demands of Russia’s economy and comfortable living conditions for its citizens;
• Development of new software, technical and process resources to ensure high quality and technical level of design of electric power grid facilities
• Implementation of technical, energy and environmental design requirements in line with effective international and national standards.
